I was actually agnostic (doing the Pascal's Wager thing) until I read The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins, then decided to quit being a fence-sitter and become a full-blown atheist. My political views are already very liberal anyway.

Thanks! I don't agree with everything that Dawkins says, but he is definitely one of the best proponents atheism has ever had. Welcome to the club!
